Why signing Fournette makes the Bucs the clear favorite in the NFC South
By Steve Risser
On Wednesday the Bucs signed running back Leonard Fournette this fills the biggest hole on the Bucs offense and makes them the best team the NFC South and a serious Super Bowl contender. Fournette is now part of the loaded offense for the Bucs with Quarterback Tom Brady, Wide Receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and Tight Ends Rob Gronkowski and OJ Howard. Right now, Coach Bruce Ariens says that Ronald Jones is starting running back but Fournette should be the starter sooner than later either way will it will improve their run game from last year which finished 24th overall in rushing yard. Fournette ran for over 1,000 Yards 2 of 3 seasons in Jacksonville they also have Ronald Jones who had over 1,000 all-purpose yards last year and they drafted Ke’Shawn Vaughn in the 3rd round and sign veteran Running Back LeSean McCoy. They probably won’t keep all those guys but that is a backfield that should be one of the better ones in the league this year. Now that the Bucs have a good running game they are the clear favorite to win the NFC South a big reason for that is Tom Brady is better than Drew Brees, yes Brees numbers were better but if you look at the talent Brady had on offense last year with the talent Bress had it’s not even comparable and even thou the Saints have the best roster in the league the Bucs are really close by signing Fournette. As for the rest of the division the Falcons don’t have the QB or the roster to compete with the Bucs and the Panthers are in full rebuild mode.
