There’s No Doubt that Alex Smith Should Win Comeback Player of the Year
By Steve Risser
On Thanksgiving, the Washington Football Team beat the Cowboys 41–16 and our now in first place in the NFC East. With the 2 teams, the Washington football team played the last 2 weeks. The story about Alex Smith has been overshadowed. Last week, they beat the Bengals and the story was about Joe Burrow missing the rest of the season. This week, they beat the Cowboys and the story is how bad the Cowboys are. Around this time, Alex Smith suffered a terrible leg injury, which he had to undergo 17 surgeries and had to miss the entire 2019 season. Many thought there would be no chance that he would step on the field again. He’s not only stepped on the field, he came in relief for Kyle Allen and almost lead Washington to a comeback win over the Giants. He’s started the last 3 games, even though they lost to the Lions, he played really well and he’s won his last two starts against the Bengals and Cowboys. Washington is in good position to win the NFC East, but no matter what happens, there’s no question that Smith should be the comeback player of the year.
