Friday was a really busy day around the NFL. First, the Niners traded up with the Dolphins to get the number 3 overall pick and gave the Dolphins a 3rd round pick this year and first round picks in 2022 and 2023. Then, the Dolphins traded up with the Eagles to get the number 6 overall pick and the Dolphins also got a 5th round pick this year, as well. The Eagles received a 4th round pick this year and got a first round pick in 2022. For the 49ers, this shows that they are moving on from Jimmy Garoppolo and he won’t be the starter after 2021. Also, assuming the Jets take Zack Wilson at 2, the Niners will have their choice of taking either Justin Fields, Trey Lance or Mac Jones. It is also in their best interest to trade Jimmy Garoppolo before the draft. The Pats, Panthers, and Broncos should have interest. For the Dolphins, this shows that Tua is their guy and they want to get him an elite skill guy in the draft and they’re in a great position to do that. They probably will have their choice of either taking Kyle Pitts, Jamar Chase, Devonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle with the number 6 pick. Lastly, this shows that the Eagles are in full rebuild mode by trading down it doesn’t guarantee that they get either Pitts, Chase, Smith or Waddle but they will have at least 2 and possibly 3 first round picks in 2022.
