Today, the 2 teams that played in the Super Bowl last season, the San Francisco 49ers and Kanas City Chiefs, signed both their tight ends to long term deals. The Niners gave George Kittle a 5 year 75 Million Dollar extension and the Chiefs just gave Travis Kelce a 4 year 57 Million Dollar extension. Both are really smart moves to lock up their 2 best skill position players for the future.

Kittle was drafted by the Niners in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL drafts he’s been an 2- time All Pro and has been selected to the Pro Bowl the last 2 seasons. In those 2 seasons he had over 1,000 yards receiving and in week 14 of 2018 against the Broncos he set a franchise record for receiving yards for a Tight End in a game with 210. The biggest reason why he is the highest paid TE is because he’s the most compete tight end in the league he is great catching the football and he’s an outstanding blocker.

Kelce was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft he’s been an All Pro the last 4 years and he’s been selected to the Pro Bowl last 5 years. He’s had over 1,000 receiving yards the last 4 years and he is the best pass catching tight end in football. Some critics might say his numbers are what they are because he has Mahomes as his QB part of that is true but most of it isn’t his 6–5 frame makes him a match up nightmare and in his first 5 years in the league Mahomes was not his QB Alex Smith was and in 2 of those years he had over 1,000 receiving yards and in the 2 years before that he had over 800 receiving yards .

Now that with Kelce and Kittle locked up the Niners and Chiefs should be Super Bowl contenders for years to come.
