On Friday, the Bills signed Josh Allen to a 6 year 258 million dollar extension with 150 million guaranteed. This deal puts him right up there with Dak and Mahomes as the highest paid QB’s in the league. There are 2 reasons why he should be getting paid this much. One is he has all the physical tools to be a top QB for years to come. At 6’5”, he has the size and he’s got great arm strength and he’s mobile. The biggest reason why he’s getting over 40 million a year is that he’s improved every year. In his rookie year in 2018, he threw 10 TD passes and 12 INT’s and had a completion percentage of 52.8. In 2019, he threw 20 TD passes and 9 INT’s and had a completion percentage of 58.8. In 2020, he threw 37 TD passes and 10 INT’s and had a completion percentage of 69.2. Most importantly, the Bills have improved every year Allen has been there. They went from 6–10 to 10–6 in his 2nd year and last year, they went 13–3 and went all the way to the AFC Championship game. Now that Allen is locked up, we will see if he can lead the Bills to their first Super Bowl title.
