Despite what Lillard says, his days in Portland are probably over

On Friday, there were rumors that Damian Lillard is going to request a trade out of Portland in the coming days in a press conference. He denied all those trade rumors, but despite all of that, I feel like he is going to get traded. There are 2 reasons why and one is that he’s 31 and he doesn’t want to keep waiting to compete for a championship. If he went to the Sixers, Warriors, or Clippers, he would have a chance to play with that 2nd superstar which would give him a better chance to compete for a title. The second reason is it doesn’t look like the organization is going to improve this team since Lillard has been there. The only real improvement they made was to draft CJ McCollum. Lillard and McCollum have formed one of the best backcourts in the league, but it hasn’t been enough because Portland has been unable to land a superstar and even with all of Lillard’s big moments in the postseason, they have not been able to reach the NBA finals in the 9 years he has been there.
