Clemson’s Starting QB Test Positive for Covid-19

QB Trevor Lawerence has tested positive for COVID on Wednesday night the All-American and soon to be top pick in the NFL draft will miss Saturday’s game vs Boston College. Clemson football players are tested three times a week Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Right now he is experiencing mild symptoms because he is showing symptoms that would rule out that it is a false positive. They believe that this is an isolation positive because Lawrence lives by himself. Next week Clemson travels for a potential top 5 matchup against Notre Dame on November 7th. The Tigers did not state Lawerence’s status for that game but ACC protocol says he must be isolated for 10 days which would rule him out of the game.

At the moment he is the only player on the team that has tested positive, he did not practice Thursday with the team. Before Lawerence could come back he will need to undergo cardiac testing before he is cleared to return and coaches have conditioning tests after they get out of isolation to make sure they are game ready. Freshman DJ Uiagalelei will be the starting QB this week for the Tigers.
