Alvin Kamara is the Saints MVP this year
By Steve Risser
On Christmas, Alvin Kamara had an outstanding performance. He rushed for 155 yards and tied an NFL single game record scoring 6 TD’s, but he’s been the MVP of the Saints all year. He’s gained almost 1,700 all-purpose yards with 21 Total TD’s. There are 3 reasons why he has been the Saints best player this year. One is Brees is starting to show his age and is not the QB he once was. He’s had trouble pushing the ball down the field and has needed Kamara more than he’s ever had in the screen game. This now leads me to my 2nd reason that Michael Thomas has missed more than half the year and Kamara leads the team in receiving yards with 756, which also leads the league for running backs. Also, he’s had 4 games where he’s had over 70 receiving yards. Lastly, even though the Saints D has played well in the 2nd half of the season, in the first half the of the season, it wasn’t as good. They had a 5 game stretch were they have up 24 points or more in each game and they gave up over 30 points in their last 2 games. In the playoffs, the best way the Saints will have success is if they play, though Kamara in the pass and run game.
