AEW is bringing fans back
by Tyler Bard
AEW is bringing fans back for the first time since the Covid-19 Pandemic began back in March on the August 27th episode of Dynamite. A 10–15% capacity will be met with social distancing as to keep everyone in attendance as safe as possible. AEW representatives stated Thursday that it will follow state, local and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines with “physically distanced seating pods” available for sale. Temperature checks will be required to enter and if you are not socially distanced in your pod you may be asked to leave by event staff.
The event will be taking place at the Jacksonville Jaguars nextdoor venue, Daily’s Place. For those who may not know the Jacksonville Jaguars owners, the Khan family, Also own and produce All Elite Wrestling. AEW’s CEO Tony Khan said, “Please be assured, we are mindful and respectful of the situation. The health and safety of our AEW family and our fans remains our highest priority. Our leadership team and medical staff have adjusted our operations for limited, physically distanced fans in an outdoor, open-air setting in compliance with the most current state and local regulations and CDC guidelines.” It looks to be that AEW is still taking the Corona Virus very seriously.
AEW has once again taken a step up on their TV competitor of WWE by being the pioneers of re introducing fans into their arenas. Thankfully Owners like the Khans are taking safety precautions to allow wrestling fans to feel some sort of normalcy in their lives as the Corona Virus has caused just about everybody to stay quarantined in their homes for the last 5+ months. Hopefully this is the beginning of the normalization of fans attending sporting events because it would be a much appreciated reprieve for all of us who have been in lock down for so long.
